ZYAMI . PHASE 0

You didn’t become a

parent to follow the

crowd.

Join a community of parents choosing intention over

default — and helping their children grow through

Zyami Phase 0, the first step in a new kind of African-centered

education.

Zyami Phase 0 is a 10-week family learning experience where parents and children

explore identity, heritage, and deeper questions about the world.

What Is Phase 0?

Most education gives children new information. Phase 0 does something different.

It starts with you.

Because when a child learns African history without questioning how it’s been taught, it often remains trivia — interesting, but not transforming.

Phase 0 is a 10-week family experience designed to shift how you see history, knowledge, and identity. And when that shifts in you, something powerful happens.

Your child doesn’t just learn new facts. They begin to see themselves differently.

That is what we mean by African-centered education. Not a subject. A stance.

What Phase 0 Looks Like

Ten weeks. Self-paced. Designed to fit into your family’s life — not compete with it.

Each week you receive:

  • A short video lesson to watch together or on your own
  • Printable activities and reflection prompts
  • Guided discussion questions for family conversations
  • Access to the Zyami parent community — a space to process and connect with families on the same journey

Understanding Phase 0 in 10min

A Glimpse Into the Journey

The first three weeks set the foundation for everything that follows.

Week 1 — The Awakening

Who tells the story?

Your family sits down together and maps what you were taught about European history versus African history. Side by side. The gap that appears on that page is where Phase 0 begins.

Week 2 — The Foundation

What Africa knew.

You discover the four pillars African societies were built on — Ubuntu, Governance, Spirituality, Innovation. Not as ancient relics. As living ideas. Your family writes its first Ubuntu Statement together.

Week 3 — Our Story

 Where do we come from?

This is where it gets personal. You map your family tree — four generations if you can. Migration stories. Traditions kept and lost. The week African history stops being something out there and becomes something in your family.

What Begins to Shift

Most parents begin Phase 0 for their child. Most finish it talking about what they never knew.

Something unexpected happens over these ten weeks. Your child begins thinking differently — asking questions you didn’t anticipate, making connections across history and identity that surprise you.

But what surprises parents most is this: Those questions begin to land in them too.

History you were never taught. Knowledge systems you were never shown. A way of learning that doesn’t feel like school — because it isn’t.

You can’t pass on what you haven’t been given.

And as your understanding deepens, something shifts in how you guide your child.

By the end of Phase 0, parents don’t just say their children have grown. They say they have too.

“Zyami began as a question in my own home.

What would education look like if it helped our children understand who they are — and prepared them for what is coming?

A future arriving faster than we expected. A future where AI is not a distant concept but a present reality.

Our children need roots and range. Identity and adaptability. That is what Zyami is being built to give them.”

What You Receive in Phase 0.

Guided introductory learning modules

Not a lecture. A conversation starter. Each module is designed to open a question in you before it opens one in your child.

Prompts for meaningful discussions

The right question at the right moment changes everything. These prompts are designed to make your family’s dinner table a place where history comes alive.

Short video lessons designed for families

Designed for real family life — watchable together or alone, re-visitable, and always rooted in African voices and perspectives.

Access to the Zyami parent community

You are not doing this alone. This is a space to ask questions, share discoveries, and walk this journey alongside families who are choosing the same thing you are.

Printable materials and activities

Learning that moves off the screen and into your hands. Designed for children to engage with independently, curiously, and at their own pace.

We see you

This isn’t about curriculum.
It’s about who you are.

The parent who listens

You notice the small things — a pause before an answer, a flicker of curiosity. You already know that’s where the real learning lives.

The parent who questions

You don’t accept that’s how it’s done. You ask why — and you’re raising children who do the same.

The parent who stays

Not just present — truly there. You chose intention over default, even when it’s harder.

Phase 0 was made for you..

A quiet conviction

“The world will tell your child who to become.

You get to show them who they already are.”

You’ve always known there was more.

 This is where more begins.

Phase 0 is open. Your family is ready. The only question is whether you’ll take the first step.

NO PRIOR KNOWLEDGE IS REQUIRED.
